Biography

Yongzhi Huang (黄勇志) Photo 2
  • I am Yongzhi Huang, currently pursuing my Ph.D. at the Data Science and Analytics Thrust (DSA) of Information Hub (Inf) at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST-GZ) under the guidance of Professor Kaishun Wu. I completed my Master's in August 2020 in CSSE at SZU, where Professor Lu Wang mentored me. Prior to that, I completed my Bachelor's in Computer Science and Minor in Finance in just 2 YEARS in August 2017. Before 2015, I gained five years of managerial expertise in the airborne unit of the PLA while also pursuing studies at the Air Force's "West Point". During this period, I received numerous prestigious international military awards. All of these experiences have contributed to my determination to succeed in my academic and research pursuits at HKUST.
  • I'm also known as the big cheese at Alioth Medical Assistant Technology Co., Ltd. which scored a whopping ONE MILLION in angel round funding -- thanks to bigwig backers like Coastal Fund, Shunde Fund, and official support funds. We have won the "Star of Nanshan Entrepreneurship", which is the "Oscar" in the entrepreneurial competition.
  • As someone who values lifelong learning, I enjoy exploring various fields of knowledge on topics including biology, medicine, economics, history, physics, philosophy and politics. I delve into real-life business scenarios and investment practices in my free time. I have hands-on experience in investing, and my annual return rate for the last six years has been more than 40%. Moreover, in 2022, I received a return on investment exceeding 200% .
  • Research Interests

I am excited to tackle issues and delve into the areas of Ubiquitous Computing, Human-computer Interaction, and Wireless Communication. My company and I are both devoted to Empowering Underprivileged Groups. I yearn to accomplish advanced intelligent sensing technology and effective processing methods for solving real-life challenges. Additionally, I'm intrigued by machine learning, signal processing, and physical modeling in computer science.

Brief: Wineries sometimes introduce other bacteria in unique ways, like stomping on them, to create special flavors. However, this complex microflora can lead to winemaking failures. Testing sealed wine for microbial changes can be risky and time-consuming. To address this, we developed a real-time system that monitors microbial changes. Our system eliminates the need for microbial culture methods, making microorganism measurement faster and safer.

Brief: Upgrading the infrastructure and implementing fire prediction systems in older high-rise residential buildings can be a challenging task. Our research has revealed that flames are a type of plasma, which can obstruct signals and produce erratic interference with signal channels. Utilizing this knowledge, we have developed a novel fire detection system.
